Research Interests:
My research interests focus on developing a better understanding of the physiological and pathophysiological processes involved in normal and impaired cutaneous regeneration and wound healing, and their relationship to pathways activated during development. In particular, my group is studying how to harness the potential of epidermal stem cells to address the development of chronic wounds in individuals with genetic blistering disorders and to improve the success of skin grafts to treat chronic ulcers associated with diabetes or vascular disorders.
