Andras Nagy

Profile: Senior Investigator, Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute

Department: Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Toronto

Lab: Nagy Lab

Research Interests:

Blood vessels, embryonic and induced Pluripotent Stem cells, genetic tools

The lab reflects my broad scientific interests rooting back to my love of developmental biology. All our projects aim to connect the normal developmental processes to diseases. We use the power of sophisticated genetics as an approach to understand biological processes. Over the years, my laboratory has become more and more focused on three areas: 1. blood vessel biology with connection to cancer and blindness, 2. understanding how to derive/maintain stem cells and then to move them toward future clinical applications, and 3. developing our own genetic tools.

I am fortunate to work with an excellent group of students, postdoctoral fellows, associate scientists, technicians and my administrative assistant who are taking this challenge very professionally.
